Some people have been wondering why "Canada" is not in our organization's name. It's a great question.

APSL and USLA expect that one day, Canada will want to create it's own association for the Lusitano horse. Until that time, USLA is honored to welcome Canadians to participate fully in USLA, and to assist Canadian Lusitano breeders and owners with the registration and inspection of their Lusitano horses. As USLA develops programs for awards and education, we are delighted to include Canadian Lusitano breeders and owners in all of our programs.

We also welcome the opportunity to assist Canada in any way we can when Canadians are ready to create a separate association for the Lusitano horse!
