Bringing Your Horse to the USLA Conference at the World Equestrian Center
The USLA 2024 Lusitano Conference is set to be an exciting gathering for equestrians and their horses at the World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Ocala, Florida. With a packed schedule of master classes, inspections, and competitions, proper stabling arrangements are essential for a smooth experience. Here’s what you need to know about bringing your horse to the conference and the stabling options provided.
Stabling Overview: All stabling for the USLA Conference components is organized in Barn Y. This includes horses participating in Master Classes, the Rising Stars Model & Movements competition, and the USLA Inspection for Breeding. There is no additional cost for stabling horses participating in these activities; however, horses schooling only must pay a separate “Schooling Only” fee.
Note: Horses participating in the USEF/USDF Dressage Competition will be stabled in Barn X per USEF/USDF requirements. Barn X is managed separately by the USEF/USDF Show Team.
Activities and Options: Participants must select the activities their horses will be involved in, with options including:
- Pedro Torres Master Class: Focusing on Working Equitation with the guidance of expert Pedro Torres.
- Rafael Soto In-Hand and Riding Master Classes: Unique opportunities to learn from dressage legend Rafael Soto.
- Schooling Only: For horses that are schooling without participating in specific classes, with a separate fee required.
- USLA Inspection for Breeding: A detailed evaluation by APSL judges to determine breeding suitability.
- USLA Rising Stars Model & Movements: A competition that showcases the conformation and movement of Lusitano horses.
Stabling Instructions: When arranging stabling, participants should provide detailed instructions on grouping horses, including requests to be near other farms or individuals. This helps ensure a convenient and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
Documentation Requirements: Upon arrival at WEC, all horses must check in with the stabling representative in Barn Y before unloading. Required documentation includes:
- Proof of Vaccines
- Health Certificate
- Negative Coggins Test
- Trainer/Owner Health Declaration
Participants are advised to have all necessary paperwork ready upon arrival to facilitate a smooth check-in process. Full health requirements can be found on the USLA website under Health Requirements.
Selecting Stall Nights: Stabling is available from Monday, October 14, through Saturday, October 19, at a nightly cost of $50. To book stabling, select the specific nights your horses will be staying, and ensure the quantity reflects the number of horses, not the number of nights. Separate orders may be required if different horses are staying for varying durations.
Purchase Stabling by October 4th: Stabling for USLA activities must be purchased on the USLA website by October 4th. Be sure to complete this step to secure your horse’s spot.
Final Steps: After making all necessary selections and confirming the stabling arrangements, the horses are ready for their stay at WEC during the conference. With Barn Y serving as the hub for USLA activities, participants can easily access their horses, attend events, and enjoy all the USLA 2024 Lusitano Conference offers.
Proper planning and adherence to check-in protocols will ensure that bringing your horses to the USLA Conference is a rewarding and hassle-free experience.
