My horse has IALHA (International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association) papers, are they eligible for APSL registration?

If both of the parents of your horse are registered with APSL and also have LA/LGA numbers, your horse may be able to be registered with APSL.

In order to be defined as a Pure Blood Lusitano or PSL (Puro Sangue Lusitano) both parents must be registered/inscribed with the APSL (Associação Portuguesa de Criadores do Cavalo Puro Sangue Lusitano). Both parents must have a Breeders Section (LA/LGA) number.

If one or both parents does not have a Breeders Section (LA/LGA) number your horse is NOT able to be registered as a Pure Blood Lusitano. You can find out if you horse’s sire and dam have Breeders Section (LA/LGA) numbers by going to the APSL Public Studbook HERE and doing a search.

For assistance determining if your horse may be registered with APSL, please please contact our registry office.
