Save the Date: 2026 USLA Lusitano Conference
September 25–27, 2026 | Haras dos Cavaleiros | Magnolia, Texas
The United States Lusitano Association (USLA) is pleased to announce that the 2026 USLA Lusitano Conference will take place Friday–Sunday, September 25–27, 2026, at Haras dos Cavaleiros in Magnolia, Texas.
This Conference will bring together breeders, owners, riders, and industry professionals committed to the serious advancement of the Puro Sangue Lusitano in the United States and Canada. Our focus remains clear: strengthening breed standards, supporting functional excellence, and aligning North American breeding programs with APSL criteria.
USLA/APSL Model & Movements Competition
The 2026 Conference will feature the official USLA/APSL Model & Movements Competition, offering horses the opportunity to earn APSL gold and silver medals.
These distinctions are not ceremonial. Medal results may contribute toward qualification for Recommended Reproducer Status under APSL regulations, reinforcing the essential link between correct type, functionality, movement, and genetic transmission.
For breeders focused on producing Lusitanos capable of succeeding in sport, Model & Movements provides meaningful, objective recognition.
Official APSL Inspection for Breeding (Revisão)
The Conference will also host an official APSL Inspection for Breeding (Revisão).
Mares and stallions will be presented for evaluation according to APSL standards, including assessment of morphology, movement, and overall breeding quality.
Inspection remains foundational to responsible breeding. It establishes objective evaluation, supports long-term selection decisions, and ensures continued alignment between North American programs and Portugal.
Educational Symposium
Education continues to be central to the USLA mission.
The 2026 Symposium will feature expert speakers addressing topics in breeding strategy, genetic evaluation, sport development, veterinary and reproductive science, and broader industry trends.
The goal is practical application — providing breeders and professionals with information that strengthens programs and improves outcomes.
And More to Come
Additional programming details, guest judges, speakers, and special events will be announced in the coming months.
If you are committed to the future of the Lusitano in North America — whether as a breeder, competitor, owner, or enthusiast — this is a weekend to reserve now.
Save the Date: September 25–27, 2026.
We look forward to welcoming you to Texas.
